This wonderful surprise from Havana is now available, under an exclusive worldwide license from World Circut / Nonsuch, on 180 gram vinyl! The discs are mastered directly from the original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman (who mastered the original CD) under the supervision of the project producer, Ry Cooder. An international phenomenon upon its release in late 1997 (with second volume in the works as we speak) these sessions feature some of the greatest Cuban musicians ever in a historical recording event. Most have never been heard outside their native land, many are sexagenarians but the magic that came together on these tapes shows no age. Featuring the energizing-legend on piano: Ruben Gonzalez, plus over a dozen other great musicians and singers including Cooder. A 2-LP set in a gatefold jacket, it features artwork and photography from the original compact disc packaging. Muy Bueno!
