John Hammond Jr. has spent the last 40-plus years playing and singing the blues. Raised around the blues and jazz (he’s the son of the famous record producer John Hammond) John, unlike many blues "influenced" singers, is the real deal. For this particular session he surrounded himself with musicians that shared the same commitment. His backup band for this occasion included members of The Hawks. Musicians Levon Helm, Robbie Robertson and Garth Hudson would later find their own sound as The Band. This milestone blues outing also features harmonica legend Charlie Musselwhite.
